About Helen Jones
I’m a community sector generalist and freelancer based in West Yorkshire. In 2003 I began working in community development work, spending 20 years as founder and CEO. Since then I’ve held many roles in charity management and governance, including CEO, fundraiser, grant maker, trustee, researcher and co-author.
My approach is built on instinctive co-production and a commitment to inclusion, driven by social curiosity. For me, the D in Diversity stands for discovery and delight. I believe social change happens when we work with our neighbours and colleagues to create the changes we need.
Since 2023 I’ve been offering consultancy support charities, CICs and CIOs that connect with my own sense of community and my urgency about our future on this planet. The name Antworks Community reflects my fascination with the cooperative power of these small creatures.
Community change work often means flying by the seat of your pants. I want to help make sure your pants are made of Teflon! That means good planning and strategy, understanding your operating environment, sound governance, managing people well, communicating effectively and making the best use of your resources.
Whether you’re an established CEO, a CIC founder or just starting a new project I offer individual mentoring, governance reviews and trustee support across West Yorkshire, East Lancashire and online, to help you build on that connection, not lose it.
